Cabinet meeting

13 April 2016

South Lakeland District Council’s (SLDC’s) Cabinet members will be hitting the road as they hold their next meeting in Old Hutton, on Wednesday, 27 April, 2016.

The council’s Cabinet usually sits at Kendal Town Hall and meetings are open to the public, but the council will, from time to time, hold Cabinet meetings in different locations around South Lakeland.

Holding the Cabinet meeting in Old Hutton on 27 April will make it easier for local residents to go along and experience the Cabinet meeting process, and members of the public are encouraged to attend.

The meeting will be held at Old Hutton Public Hall, starting at 10.30am.

Last year Cabinet held meetings at Staveley and Chapel Stile and in 2014 in Sedbergh and Ulverston.

The meeting in Old Hutton on 27 April will be preceded by a half hour session, starting at 10am, during which representatives of the local community have been invited to address Cabinet members on local issues.

Normal cabinet rules for the public participation section at the start of the meeting will still apply.

The Cabinet meeting will be chaired by Councillor Peter Thornton, who is the ward member for Whinfell, which covers Old Hutton, as well as being Leader of South Lakeland District Council.
